This is totally off topic, but I've noticed again and again how I can perfectly understand some reer Waqooyi folks whose accent is nearly indistinguishable from my own, while others are very distinct.

The first guy who is introducing the mayor sounds like he can be from anywhere, while someone like Faysal Waraabe quite clearly speaks in a regional accent.

I've noticed this as well. I can tell when i'm listening to a reer waqooyi person who non-reer waqooyis would struggle a bit to fully understand, even though for me it's 100 percent intelligible.
