You make a good point. And don’t take people seriously that calls Ogaden slaves. I agree with you that OG push the Somali frontier into modern day Kenya. But the push west was done by many clans, especially Dir and Hawiya.

You can see to this day, Dir and Hawiya are the majority of clans that border Afar and Oromo. Which means they were the ones that push the Somali lands west.

Somali camels have been grazing in ukambani land since colonial times. If you look at the map Northeast of Kitui is Tana River and Garissa counties both Somali inhabited counties. Ukasi is shared with Somali town and well known stop for picking up 'caano geel'
