Trump said he wants a merit based immigration policy and it immediately signaled alarms to the racist right wing hordes of more immigration from India.
So even if he for some reason stops immigration from mexico, haiti and latin america. It's not going to do anything to limit Indian immigration which come through HB1 visas and student visas like you see in Canada.
