Anybody have information on this village?
Is it safe etc?

Typical, why dont they blockade the village through paying security or lobbying for military protection?I’ve been there and my family lives there. It’s safe but last week there were shootings nearby. There are zoos and pretty houses. There’s also an amusement park for kids
Mogadishu is a city of inequalities but there are alot of rich diaspora and intelligent businessmen looking for well built neighbourhoods.what in the world! It looks like city not located in Somalia at all! What a hidden gem! Why was kept secret?
Do you know how to find rentals there? Or is it only for buying? I’d love to live there for 3 months while I’m working from home.I’ve been there and my family lives there. It’s safe but last week there were shootings nearby. There are zoos and pretty houses. There’s also an amusement park for kids
Agree more cities like this throughout would definitely attract diaspora. Even visiting for vacation would be more enticing and this would boost the economy.Typical, why dont they blockade the village through paying security or lobbying for military protection?
We need to begin developing Microsystems in Somalia for safety. Certain neighbourhoods are filled with Alshabab.

The land is owned by a rich construction group which bans any shanty huts from operating there. Hopefully they have setup garbage trucks, sewage systems , street lights and surveillance systems.
Houses are expensive so no poor riff raff allowed.
A security company can be opened in Somalia, registers under the government and has documents to operate in the city.Without a strong central govt and police force,
wouldn’t local security just invite a form of war lords and spaaros?
Also maybe houses are a little too expensive. I think we need to focus on sustainability and accessibility. I would enjoy xamar more if all of it looked like the above, rather than rich exclusive pockets surrounded by poverty.
Dont go to Mogadishu for the next 5-10 years , focus on increasing your wealth. Over the next decade we will see the capital strengthening.Do you know how to find rentals there? Or is it only for buying? I’d love to live there for 3 months while I’m working from home.
The village itself is safe. The only threat is theft.Typical, why dont they blockade the village through paying security or lobbying for military protection?

Ask around wallah I dont know. It’s rentals and buyings. The diaspora usually rentsDo you know how to find rentals there? Or is it only for buying? I’d love to live there for 3 months while I’m working from home.

Their sole purpose would be limiting outside people from entering the city. Whereby only people with ID and homes in the town can enter.
You shouldn't be ashamed of not wanting to see poverty while going about your day. IDP camps in Mogadishu are breeding camps for terrorism, why bother building a villa there.
Instead we should impliment gated communities with heavy security like Xalane. Diaspora can go straight to the community and enjoy modern amenities like cinemas, pizza etc.
Surveillance systems can be also placed throughout the gated community to check for breaches etc. Lobbying can push for a military Gorgor base to be placed near it with the sole purpose of helping security.
Security is 1st, if FGS wants Diaspora expertise they should focus on helping form a diaspora microcommunity. No unregistered cars( license plates) etc.
I heard about paying al-shabab but that's untenable in the long term. They need to use the time they have now to build security systems etc.The village itself is safe. The only threat is theft.
And yes there are security guards. If you want to come in you have to state who you are and where you live. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

I guess I just don’t like the concept of a gated community or people being divided by wealth like that. I guess in a capitalist system it’s inevitable and it’s the peoples right to group themselves like that if they wish. But since we are sort of starting from scratch and imagining a better way - why don’t we imagine equality, and a high standard of living for all - or at least most.
