:faysalwtf:

I spoke to buddy of mine back home and he’s working closely on the ground in regards to the situation in Tuqarak.

He told me something very interesting and alarming.

Please don’t take this as a low blow or tit for tat posting. I’m actually concerned about this as it is an opportunity to address drug consumption within the military.

Apparently SL’s soldiers are experiencing Khat withdrawals and are having diarrhea that is causing dehydration and lack of focus.

What he told me is that a truck carrying khat for the soldiers broke down and couldn’t bring supplies to the front line. The soldiers are experiencing withdrawals and are losing focus on the ground.

Somaliland, a typical khat consumer, about 75% of users, will consume between 1 and 2 bundles per day (each bundle weighs about 150 to 300 grams). Forty three percent of whom would consume khat 7 days a week and about 65% of the consumers also spend 7 hours per day chewing.

Despite high unemployment rates of 75%, the habit can cost $300 a month. In Djibouti, about 60.8% of consumers will use for 4 days per week with 91.9% of them chewing for more than 4 hours.

Khat kills Somalis.

You can’t have 70% of human capital high all day.

A Khat drug testing facility to help businesses hire drug free users is better and easier to manage.
