They had an opportunity in 1991 but lost it.

Now they have another one: they can take the presidency permenantly with their elections (supported by the IC) and begin to create a two-tier country. It just depends if the IC will back them for long enough for the oil to start generating money.

Probably but the way the security situation is managed in Somalia by foreign interests and UN is helping them by preventing infighting among them. The rest will take some skill but it's not that hard. They just need to reward regions that work with them with money and projects that's all.

HG got the helm like they did in 60’s and haven’t produced someone like Somalia’s first president yet, or anyone that wants to be like them. Not sure what afweyne did to them during the kacaan, but it must have changed them down to even their base political beliefs. Because what we have now is a far cry from the greatness in the past. But besides that, if the 1m1v isn’t just for Hassan to get re-elected, an HG or hawiye politician like the first ones we had would do our country wonders.
