It's possible. But keep in mind that italy while not as bad as spain . Was the last to industrializ in western europe. They were far behind France Germany Russia , Sweden, Netherlands, England. Industrialization in those places first began in the late 1700s. It didn't really fully begin in itay till the late 1800s becuae italy was only fully united in 1871. That's one of the reasons ethiopia was able to fight back against them.

Britain didn't industrialise any African state, it only imported south African folks with prior knowledge to do all the manual labour. It did industrialise white inhabited areas of Africa like Rhodesia and South Africa tho
