Did the Dhaanto Dance die a long time ago?

I believe the dhaanto dance died a long time ago, most probably after the civil war when Wahhabism took over Somalia, and an Arabization of the Somali culture occurred.

Dhaanto is an extinct part of our culture because I've been to many Somali weddings and events my whole life, and I never once saw the dhaanto dance being performed. In fact, I never even heard of it till 2012 when I visited the Motherland. It's sad it died because it was a beautiful part of our ancient Somali culture.
The Ethiopians still have and perform their ancient cultural dances, how come we let our dances die?

Dhaantadu mey dhimman
Dhulkana kuma dhicin
Dhaantada dhaqankeenna weeyaanay!

If anything dhaanto is doing the best out of all our traditional dances and songs.

I've been to some weddings were there wasn't enough food and people were fighting for seats lol. It was mainly because anyone could come to the wedding and people were inviting their next door neighbours Iyo the whole city.
