Particularly the bits I've put in bold, we can't really quantify how widespread the issue is and by how much it's grown/reduced over the years without actual statistics of Somali-Australian male youth.
Even looking up how many Somalis are in Australia is a pain in the ass, because IIRC the Bureau counts people 'born in Somalia' not all of us of Somali origin so I don't think it's right for you to write it off as a very small minority. That's probably your bias as a Perth boy where the community is smaller than Sydney/Melbourne so the pool of saqajaan Aussie Abdis around you is minuscule.

When you look up "how many Somalis are in Australia?" on Google, you'll see the ABS giving you the answers separated by Australians whose nation of birth was Somalia and Australians of Somali ancestry from the most recent census back in 2021.
The problem is 'nation of birth' pops up first and is easier to look up than 'ethnicity/ancestry'.
People in Australia born back home (i.e. FOBs):
All Somalis in Australia (which might include half-Somalis who identify with their Somali side more) added up to 18,401 at the time. It's on a separate table that needs to be downloaded, not published plainly on the website and I can't upload it here because the forum doesn't support Excel files.
But it looks like this and I've highlighted the row that divides all Somalis in Australia by state as of June 2022.

In my opinion and experience it's a combo of an easy life, mother's love, and a bad understanding of how to plan for the future and panic accordingly due to the above points. Also most somalis in general that I've met, have some type of behavioural or psychological defects because of their parents having grown up in a literal war, this isn't a problem if you can channel those problems into drive with a little intellect, but otherwise most somali men either crumble and have their manly initiative destroyed ,or become uncaring and addicts.

Nothing, it's that the malis I see going to uni only go because of their mother telling them to. They lack initiative and in my opinion that's more important for an ethnicity success rather than blindly following cultural norms. And really do we need more degrees as a people or more rich somalis who can navigate a varied life and have the initiative and life instinct to make decisions for our people that have real effects without their mummies.

Most young men today are so empty inside that even the things they do for fun is influenced wholly by others and not themselves. Nothing you see from them is them. It's only what they've been allowed to be. And unfortunately that is a pure form of masculine oppression therefore why you don't really see real men anymore.

Personally, I feel that a woman wouldn't have a problem with a semi poor masculine man, and really the whole game of being a man is linked to having some solid designs on life to enrich your legacy and future decendants which some intelligent women must find attractive right?
I basically quit gaming until summer started and I was bored sitting on my pc some days and decided to boot up some games I owned on steam from 2021
I do not watch any shows since attack on titan years back which was really the only anime that had a grip on me.
Other than that my main focus now is gym work and finishing the pile of history books I left around on my other desk
