Ethiopia was his enemy, he wouldn't use them. Somalia's greatest enemy is Al-shabaab terrorists, getting rid of them should be every Somali's first priority. Madoobe needs to liberate regions under Al Shaydaan scums. Any Somali who's against that is enabling terrorists.

I think it is because they act as a buffer zone between him and farmajo and his Ethiopians in Gedo. Why would he make it easy for his enemies to march to him by securing the lands in between them? Ethiopia isn’t willing to take heavy losses in middle juba so he will be there as long as there is alshabab in middle juba and will not fight them. He understands a lot about politics.

That would have been a smart move but kebab no longer stays and fight when they know an incoming army is heading towards them. Thier tactics is reduced to roadside bombs, assassinations and attacking bases at night to catch soldiers lacking. Whether its Madoobe forces, FGS or Ethiopia, they will simply withdraw.
