The propaganda is real, desperately trying to make Djibouti seem like an extension of Yemen and an 'Arab country'. And since when is Djibouti tri-racial??

Somalis, Afar and ILLEGAL Yemenis, doesn't make it an Arab country, does it.

@Khaem how do deportations in Djibouti work? Is that even a thing?

Two groups keep coming back to Somalia/ Somali soil even if they are deported, Ethiopians and Yemenis.
At least with Yemenis, we can recognise them a mile away and they cannot hide from immigration police. With Oromos it's trickier.

They need to face criminal charges if they return once deported, it's the only way to decrease repeat offenders.

Tbh I do not care abt Yemini/Arab migration in the slightest, they are a Muslim people and in their times of struggle we should help them, like Yemen helped us in ours.

Technically, it is a multi-racial country. French is spoken everywhere, from the government to the institutions. French and Arabic are widely spoken and there are other Arabian expats that live there as well. Arabs in general are massive stakeholders in Djiboutian society.

Why is "Muslim" the only and sole metric?

You should drop your guard because they're Muslim and not investigate and hold off these people?

Somalis and this Dangerous Way of Thinking is why they're Susceptible to get taken Advantage of and then confuses when the Perpetrator shares the Same Religion as you.

It's Every Man for Himself and No Harm in Showing Basic Respect and Decency to Foreign Muslims as Human Beings these people need and should be kept at Arms Length and Somalis are in No Position to be Asleep at the Wheel.

I agree French is for Institutional Purposes and Governmental (to a degree) but Arabic is not nearly as much spoken as Somali, in fact Somali is the Most Spoken in Everyday Speech.

So no ina adeer you're wrong.

There are East Africans who have been in Yemen for generations. Much longer than the recent Yemeni refugees in Djibouti. Yet, you don’t see them mentioned as being part and parcel of the tribes of Yemen.

I have been to Djibouti and when I had to renew my visa and while waiting in line, there was a Yemeni man who told me that those from Yemen and Somalia shouldn’t need visas for Djibouti. He was equating Somalia with Yemen as if Somalis and Yemenis are both native to Djibouti. Ka waran the audacity.

Reer Djibouti need to wake up and curtail these people. Somalia too. Remind them of their place.

No one else to blame except Somali Djiboutian community. They are the ones who spread this nonsense the most. Many of them think like that Ahmed fella, β€œSomalidiid” are common amongst them.

The same people who abused Somalis when they were escaping the civil war? Somalis just trust everyone, we have no boundaries. I'm all for brotherhood in Islam but that comes with reciprocity.
