Djibouti is a good example why African corruption/dictatorship is bad

Damn Djibouti is way less developed and poorer than Mogadishu even though
Djibouti has been peaceful and recognized since 1977. This is why there is
no point recognizing Somaliland it will be just another Djibouti no.2.

I was not expecting that.. How can they justify those prices? Maybe he got scammed.

Nah he is correct. I checked hotel prices for Djibouti. Some are even £300 a night ridiculous.

siad barre should have conquered djibouti wiped out the french garrison there and then united with eritrean rebels to invade ethiopia he would also unite with tigray rebels and he would have full control of the highlands whereby he could set up a strong fortification using local habesha tactics

not even america and russia united could remove barre's army from northern ethiopia he would then have moved south to addis ababa and set up an independent puppet states of western somalia and abyssinia leaving ethiopia to only oromos and amhara but that's just my 2 cents

it would also save us humiliation we're in now i mean just look at this foreign house..

❤Somaliland❤
Djibouti is puppet state of France and also a police state.

Somaliland would be different because the people choose their leaders. I think Somaliland would also be somewhat of a police state tho but with some elements of democracy.

Depends on which metrics you use. Per capita income, it is the highest in East Africa.

Huge developments have happened in the last 10 years -- new ports, new airport (opening late/early 2018/2019), free trade zone akin to Dubai's, which would transship goods from Asia to Africa's hinterland, promise made by the government for each Djibouti Republic citizen to have a place of their own they call home...many, many other achievement, alx.

Goals achieved, but long ways to go to alleviate poverty and redistribution of income.

Do I still wanna see a change at the top happen? Absolutely.

Time for new blood, youngin' at the helm for sure.

most families in Somalia have at least 1 relative living abroad that sends them money in times of need. most djiboutians don't have other source of income to rely on, hence many djiboutians live in extreme conditions.

There is a large Djiboutian diaspora in Canada (Ottawa, Montreal etc) and in France.

@AbdiJew what is the Djiboutian population in Canada?

Less then 1000 on the census. LooooL

They lied and said they were from Somalia.

Many could be deported for immigration fraud.

Yep happens a lot specially in Norway, Sweden etc. Technically though a lot of Djiboutians ancestors are also from Somalia (Zeylac district).
