Somalia doesn't gain or lose anything supporting Djibouti in this matter but an Eritrean and Somali understanding on Ethiopia is critical. The little amount of land Eritrea holds in meaningless without bab el mandeb. I do believe because of Somalia they will pull back some day.

I think they've been keeping Djibouti soldiers imprisoned since 2006. Farmajo shouldn't have left Eritrea without those soldiers.

Djibouti will always be a our brother, they have done so much for us during our times of uncertainty. I want to reassure Djiboutians that Somalia will not stand to see any harm coming their way. With that said, it is wrong to suggest that two countries opening up a dialogue and agreeing to solving their differences in a peaceful manner is bad news.

All countries in the Horn should work together, hostility hinders progress and pretty much continues centuries of bad blood.

Djibouti should also meet with all neighboring countries in order to discuss these challanges that stand in the way of peaceful coexistence.

True but those are regional administrations, they have no sway in actual foreign policy. My broader point is it doesn't make much sense for the SFG to operate its foreign policy based on what's beneficial for Djibouti which is a foreign country after all.

This actually proves one thing, Farmaajo is serious about putting Somalia back as regional player in the horn after being sidelined for 27 years. I actually don't mind if he continues down this path. I don't care much for secession anyways and it will keep SL on their toes and bring them back to reality that we need to work to advance our interests within the federal system.

Btw Somalia and Djibouti's friendship will not amount to much past niceties and consists of just empty words of praise anyways. You'd better hope the French bail you guys out if Eritrea starts marching.
