Do Somali parents really

reject someone based on qabil? Have some of you guys been told don't bring home x clan?

I've lurked a little in the ummah forum and that seemes to be a thing among some Somalis in the uk. That their parents are against letting their son/daughter marry someone from a clan they don't like.

The only thing my parents said was don't bring home ajanabi don't bring home a bum.

Olders as in one of my boys who's older than me, it was pretty awkward between the families and as usual gossip gets around quick.

The only thing my parents said was don't bring home ajanabi don't bring home a bum.

I've ever heard was that back then if I married a Madhiban/Midgaan or Madow woman I would at best be mutilated with my nose and my ears getting cut off and at worst just straight up being lynched and if was a guy from these groups he trying to get married to folks from the so called "noble" clans he would just be lynched.

Only thing I've ever heard from my parents was that I should marry a somali woman and considering the fact that my parents don't talk about clan very much and especially with my dad's distaste for pointless fadhi kudirir.

My parents haven't said dont marry this or that clan, but they have told me about some "bad" qabiils to avoid. They would definitely not be pleased if i brought home a girl from one of those bad qabiils.

Also they dont like ajanabi. Some shit about culture difference, even tho i have more in common with an ajnabi born and raised here, then some somali girl raised in somalia.

I dont plan on marrying ever, so that wont be a problem.
