It depends where you live. I have never seen a manual before except in Europe.

No one chooses to drive manual. It is like reaching for a salad when there is cake right beside it.

Manual > Auto. A manual car is cheaper, fuel efficient and better at drifting. It takes a while to get your head around the clutch control but once you do, it's great because you can use the clutch when stuck in traffic without acceleration. Someone who drives manual can drive both but the reverse isn't true.
