Do you get stared down by religious somali men?

I was out today with a friend of mine, getting some essential before christmas. I usually wear abayas when I am out however there weren’t any that were clean so I opted for jeans (which were on the slim side) and my friend doesn’t wear the hijab. We were at tkmaxx, look at the jewellery section when this somali guy and his wife walks past us. He looked fairly young, wore a thobe and had a long beard. His wife wore the niqab but it was very obvious that she wasn’t somali. Anyways he didn’t pay much attention to us until i called out my friends name which is an ethnic somali name. That nigga almost broke his neck looking at her. My friend unfortunately struggles with modesty and was wearing low rise jeans and a tight top. For the duration of our stay in the store he kept giving us dirty looks. As much as I support modesty for him to act like that was completely unnecessary. Not only did it make us uncomfortable but also it probably discouraged my friend from the hijab. He didn’t seem to respect his wife as it was obvious that he didn’t care if she caught him staring. In my opinion if u are in an interracial relationship u shouldn’t be concerned with the opposite of ur ethnicity.

If he was so religious and God fearing he wouldn’t be looking at young girls regardless of how you’re dressed. Your ethnicity also shouldn’t matter. Even if he was married to a Somali woman, he should not be staring at you or your friend

Wallahi a lot of people just stare these days. And they will have partners on their sides. Me personally when I catch someone staring at me for far too long I just briskly walk away. Cant trust people these days. And yeah what rayxn said if he was truly religious he wouldnt be looking at yall and instead be focussed on his partner.

Wallahi you are nice, one time I was sitting in McDonald's, and there was a guy waiting for his food with a delivery bag. He sat across from me and kept staring at me. So, I put my sandwich down and stared him down until he looked away. You should try that it actually works

Most muslim guys look at the hijab as a control thing. Its not about modesty cuz if he cared about tht he wouldnt be staring at you guys especically not infront of his wife. Hes anger tht u dare dress how u want and the fact he cant do shit about it makes him just stare at u...if this was bak in somalia he wouldnt think twice in calling u guys out of ur name or even abusing u. His wife not being somali doesnt matter cuz to him he still thinks he "owns" other somali women lol be careful when it comes to them.

Too many crazy people. I feel like once you acknowledge their presence they go crazy. Like one time my younger cousin stared back at them and almost got beat up.
