Do you support the death penalty?

I don't care if murderers and rapists and child molesters are put to death but my only issue is that I'm sure in a country with the death penalty, there are some people who are innocent that end up getting executed.

This is my only issue with the death penalty.

Hey if they can prove with dna evidence that somebody has killed, then yes it would be fair. some guy got stabbed 30 times and the attacker only got 10yrs for it. Would you feel you got justice if that was you?

It's a deterrent - if it didn't exist, people wouldn't fear the law. Prison is not enough a punishment for some people, especially reoffenders

Even in a highly advanced country like the USA they've put so many innocent people on death row. There an estimate that 4% of death row inmates are innocent, that's 4 innocent people for every 100. That's shocking.

How can anyone with a stable mind be pro death penalty knowing that many innocent people end up on there? Are facts irrelevant to you?

Both are bad but if you kill the innocent you can't make amends.

This is a difficult one and ultimately I'm quite happy I'm not someone who actually has to make a choice like this.

To some people it ain't dead ain't a detterent nor is life imprisonment, they will still commit a crime cos they hard wired like that.

convictions getting overturned is really rare- i know the media emphasizes it a lot but its statistically insignificant outside of dna overturns

For peados and rapsists yeah I agree, their actions destroy the lives of their victims, so their lives should be destroyed too in turn. But only when there no doubt the person's guilty.

That's justice. Murders a more complex matter tbh, it depends on the guys reasons for the murder.
