In all honesty sxb I understand why they do it. If you look at their geography they all live in the same area, they are all neighbors with a contiguous land mass. They don’t have any people down south or in other regions in large numbers so it makes sense they want to be on their own. Reer PL on the other hand we have tons of people down south especially in JL so independence would mean you kinda give up on those people. If we were all in one small area like SL though it would probably mean we try the same thing. It’s just a matter of different circumstances. Having said that, SL has not been serious about independence imo.

Somaliland is better off being outside system it’s not even close. Somalia politics is dirty business with aid, flights, and weapons being used for political leverage. Somaliland is outside majority of this stuff and gets aid directly. The only thing keeping most of the states from seceding is lack of funds and needing outside support
