Documentary about an ancient trading town called 'Geesaleey'

Where does it correspond to on those Ancient Greek trade maps? These people are probably recounting recent oral history of the area as medieval trade oasis. They wouldn’t have knowledge of ancient history.

If true that those buildings date back 5 centuries , that puts it in the 1500s.

Yeah you are right , the town is most certainly older than that. Stone and brick construction signify increased wealth and urbanization. The older ones was probably built out of palm trees. You can see still see palm sticks being used to hold up the roofs

Since they were businessmen/traders they probably kept records of ownership and transactions.
