What is so shocking about this? It's an unrecognized country so currently if you want to go overseas it would be easier to get a Somali passport. And people think I am a hater, sheegato, delusional, qabalist when I state the simple fact that SOMALILAND secessionist ideology serves only the elite who more than likely carry multiple foreign passports whilst the civilians suffer for their stupid unattainable bs.
Look at this particular lady who came from all The way Hargeisa to Garowe to get Somali passport. This is the reality.
People need to wake up. Somalia is one.
My Jeegaan brother we do not have to put our people thru this. The search for recognition is a futile one. It is not real. It is not coming. We have have held our people back for 27 heads waiting for mirage and delusion created by careless elite. And today we see the labor of that delusion coming full circle. We can maintain our independence as a state but within framework of Somali republic with own local force. Our people can maintain some sort of self governance and autonomy and still enjoy the perks of being recognized country. Starting from scratch for whole new country is next to impossible and 27 years of mindless search for mirage is enoughWhat is so shocking about this? How does this affect the mission of getting recognition?? Just say we want to bring you down with us, Somalia is not one. Not even close... When Somalia is one you can talk and ask for unity but until then sayonara bihh
Starting from scratch is the whole point. Becoming recognized during this time is critical for Somaliland. This would guarantee an economic boom not only benefiting the people in Somaliland but all somali regions. My Jeegaan brother we do not have to put our people thru this. Somaliland would be able to have access to financial institutions that we don't currently, there would be a big increase in development projects targeting infrastructure, healthcare etc. Foreign investments, deals and countless more. Do you not see why we seceded?
I get it you want us to do what we do under Somalia but circumstances makes that impossible. Even if it takes 100+ years, even if they don't get it within our lifetime I don't see Somaliland and Somalia uniting.
If Somalia completely changes and it matches our views then maybe, it's very unlikely tho.
But the thing is with Africa the western countries managed to get ridiculous deals that only makes the African countries more in debt with oil and mineral trade. This was because at that time, it was the thing to do. They exploited almost all countries that had resources that surpasses the western countries natural resources. This makes no sense because Africa should be the richest continent. This is all in the light now and people are more aware.Man there is no golden cow that comes with recognition. Opening line of credit and buying stuff with it with interest is not for the best. I will argue that luck of debt makes us free of World bank hegemony. If recognition was a ticket to prosperity, Africa wouldn’t be where it is at.
However people need to freely move around and for that they need proper document. This is where SL lucks.
Everything else can be done without much of a recognition
I don't agree with that.I think even if somaliland were to become independent many countries would try to plunder the new ripe country. It would most likely culminate in the buying of strategic land and oil exploration. The corruption in somaliland could negatively affect its growth and make it spiral down like all other African countries.Furthermkre EU doesn't care about you or any other African , they won't invest much without getting a higher return. No one does anything for free, if they say they do then you're on the menu.Loans etc are just impulsive thinking and won't benefit somaliland in the long term. But the thing is with Africa the western countries managed to get ridiculous deals that only makes the African countries more in debt with oil and mineral trade. The biggest difference is if Somaliland got recognition it would be to our benefit because we would be debt free to begin with and they would have to make reasonable deals. Also getting recognition is a big thing at this time because if big entities such as UN and EU recognizes a new state they would want to make sure it is not a fiasco. They would help with brokering new deals, funding for whatever is needed, necessary loans and all that I mentioned in the previous post and more.
I disagree there is always a risk but one we are clearly willing to take. Becoming recognized opens up more doors than being unrecognized.I don't agree with that.I think even if somaliland were to become independent many countries would try to plunder the new ripe country.
Yes recognition will only open limited pathways to foreign aid.Believe it or not foreign aid has a negative effect on young countries as it begets alliance.I support a continued union , one where koonfur and somaliland must've equal rights. This could eventually allow a procedure in where new Somali states can join.I disagree there is always a risk but one we are clearly willing to take. Also I believe you mean if Somaliland were ever to get recognition? We already have independence although it's illegal.
You’re beating your chest while dragging your knuckles talking about we will invade garoowe meanwhile look how we treat you people in garoowe with dignity and respect that’s what separates the real from the fake if there was a Puntlander in hargaisa you would of probably arrested them.I disagree there is always a risk but one we are clearly willing to take.
