It seems that water maybe the biggest issue in Puntland, especially Bari where the water table is too deep to pump in many places. Desertification also appears to be huge long term issue, very shocking to see plains with no trees as far as one can see.

Is it fair to say that Puntland, especially Nugaal has per ratio the most wells? In the second video, a family from Sanaag went to Nugaal. I saw a documentary wherein Banderbeyla was hosting nomads that came as far as from Burco.

Urbanisation should be a number one priority of future administrations. The way things are heading suggest that PL is not sustainable. With its limited budget, they can't deliver service to people spread across a landmass as big as United Kingdom.

Isn't it easier to just bring all the nomads to the closest town and feed them there and set up temporary shelter for them in the outskirts during the drought?

That is what siad Barre did in 1974 but todays administrations dont have the ability and the logistics to carry out that kind of operation

Somalia has so many challenges and you can't blame the government for everything. It's the worlds most difficult country to govern; what other challenges do you want these governments to add on their shoulders while fighting terrorism and poor institutions ect.

The private sector needs to step up with creative businesses that can solve these issues, create jobs and build a sustainable culture while making profits. Yes you need to be paid in order to fill the governments void.

Petty vultures are buying water bottles in bulk and selling them for a profit to desperate nomads. That video confirms a young man saying 30liters goes for 100$USD. There are no gofundme accounts raising money for water drilling rigs in any region.

I have hopes from the private sector finding ways to change the landscape and gain trust from the people they serve.
