Why do schools teach children about Easter? I don’t understand why such a religious celebration has anything to do with their education

Isn’t the United States a secular country?
There’s a difference in those Muslim countries because they are the majority and follow the same stories (deen wise)the west is more multicultural and diverseand many of the white parents who are also non Muslim don’t even agree or celebrate Easter. So it’s just. Waste of time.
First the U.S isn’t the only country that celebrates Easter, so why pick the US only? The US is secular in policy but is a Christian country culturally. Being secular doesn’t mean you neither teach nor celebrate religious holidays or you have to embrace them all. It’s not black and white.
“In God we trust" is the motto here after all.
TBH, I don’t get it...so Muslims countries or whatever country decides they’re not secular and so they’re free to teach their own holidays at schools but as soon as a country declares they’re secular than different rules apply? That’s like holding them to a different standard aka punishing them for being secular.
Anyways my philosophy at the end of the day is who are you or we to tell anyone what they can and cannot teach in their own schools, especially when we’re like 2% of the population?

if you want to celebrate religious celebrations theres Private Schools for that. Take your kids there. Public schools should be neutral and not involve religious celebrations.

Easter is based on pagan religion not atheism, it’s about fertility or something. The op is a fob, I remember as a young child our school took us to the park to search for easter eggs, it was fun and a fond memory.
