They are lost and good chances their grandkids will be gaalo.
Maybe if some parents put more energy into raising their kids with akhlaq iyo haaq this would not have to be an alternative.

Some parents are just useless and it’s okay to say it. No accountability whatsoever

Great to see even kids say Somalia is better than qurbaha. All those negative nancies here bemoan our nation, mashallah.
Its great to see, although some of them have the attitudes/mannerisms like they are still in West (albeit they are just kids tbf).

But yes I agree. I visited Darusalam and these apartment blocks, it is beautiful to see.

Anyone who is thinking of tomorrow will make a pathway out of the West or a plan to do so soon. This isn't necessarily a return to Somalia given it is unfeasible for most, but with a will there is a way inshallah.

- Blue collar workers: Send family to Egypt + 3 months on, 3 months off rotation. All handy work is easy to stop and start.

- White collar workers: Middle East is an option, starting a business in your field of expertise in your chosen location is an option.

Those that are apathetic to move from the West, you do you. But those who already recognise the sinking ship but sit in apathy of "I just cannot leave though", its a shame.

Lmao, many 25-30 years old Qurbaha born Somalis are way more religious than a lot of fobs. These 25-30 are well educated, job secured, medium sized income and with no balwo (drugs, xashiish, alcohol).

Only those of us who been back home know the greatness of our nation. Xamar will always be the best Somali city :rejoice:

Putting your children in unsafe countries with low quality education, bad health system and environment is great?

There’s private schools in Somalia/SL which provide an excellent quality of education that diasporians go to. American, British, Canadian, etc curriculums. I did the IGCSE curriculum in SL.

The health system isn’t too great, but as long as your children have no chronic illnesses, they’ll do fine.

Honestly, I wouldn’t call the education excellent. I went to one of the best private schools in Somaliland, but it wasn’t really all that. They just brought in a bunch of teachers from Kenya to deal with rowdy diaspora kids, but most of them didn’t even seem passionate about teaching or even that well-qualified. There were no extracurriculars . The whole system felt more about babysitting daqan celis kids than actually teaching us anything meaningful. Compared to Western schools, especially in the U.S , it didn’t really measure up

I agree. The lack of extracurriculars was definitely disadvantageous to creating a strong portfolio for college applications. I think I might know which school you’re talking about with the passionless Kenyan teachers (although that was probably the sentiment of all the Kenyans teaching in international schools in SL, they all hated the country but loved the salary lol) but I think that was more of a problem in the latter years of the school.

The IGCSE curriculum however is much more difficult than the American one. When I returned to the US, I was 2-3 years ahead of the students in my grade. Material I was taught in 10th grade was being taught in my AP classes. If you were lucky enough to have teachers that cared, that were throughly checked to have adequate qualifications, coupled with the IGCSE or any other Western/Kenyan curriculum, you could have a decent quality of education in Somalia. Maybe not better than the UK, Canada or Australia, but definitely better than public schools in the US.:jcoleno:

The US education system is subpar.
