It seems to me we are not the only people with identity crises. Why do Africans deny their roots?

400,000 Eritreans in the US? Talking bollocks much. That's even more than Somalis and we have a bigger population than them.

Black Africa must distance themselves from horners. Starvation, droughts, terrorism, fgm, make up 90% of those dying on seas to Europe and piss poor countries.

Bantu countries are doing the best in Africa.

Do you wish you were a Bantu instead of a Horner?

They adopted British liberal market policies + strong governments + no Islam.

Somalia & much of the Horn has to contend with Islam and weak governance.

Ethiopia isn't Muslim. To blame Islam for horners being shit at running their countries is stupid.

Ethiopia went communist for a long time which slowed down economic growth. Communism cannot be implemented in developing countries and will only make matters worse. Subsequently, a shitty authoritarian regime took over with low legitimacy and can't implement good policies because of weak governance.

Somalia has all those problems as well + political Islam making things even harder.

Bantu countries in Southern Africa just had more luck not because they are inherently better.

Somaliland is poor as f*ck because it can't leverage its economy with them IMF and World Bank loans and no credible multinationals want to risk investing there.

These aren't excuses, but reality.
Somaliland even as a unrecognised country should be doing much better then it is doing currently, recognition is not an excuse

Yes it is. There is a ceiling to your economic growth because nobody thinks you are a genuine country and large investors don't want to waste their money with such an uncertain legal situation.

Other states do seem to get lots of fdi such as Taiwan but Somaliland is doing bad and that is the fault of the people who run it and people who live there.
