Ethiopia eyes 1 bln USD annual revenue from Chinese-discovered natural gas-in Somali region

There is without doubt huge Gas and oil reserve around the whole Somali ethnicity regions in Horn of Africa, from NFD, west,south, north.

Somali region should/would definitely benefit from this or they should blow up the pipeline.

We are expecting a one billion U.S. dollar revenue from gas export in the first year of operation, anticipating the figure would rise in the subsequent years due to the huge reserve," Ethiopian Minister Mines, Natural Gas and Petroleum, Motuma Mekassa, was quoted by state newspaper on Wednesday as saying.



Mekassa also said that due to the expensive nature of the processing procedures an agreement was reached with the Chinese Poly-GCL to install a pipeline and transport the gas to Ethiopia's neighboring country Djibouti.

You guys shouldn't be worried. Oil will probably stop being used by 2030 and countries will demand less oil because they want to use clean energy. This means that by 2025, oil will probably be dirt cheap because China will not be buying as much oil anymore.

This is true. Oil will only be used by ships, freight trains, airplanes and heavy construction equipment. Cars and trucks will almost certainly go electric. Oil will also be used for plastics and other byproducts. Its price will collapse though once it is not used for personal and light transportation.
