This is to be expected, Ethiopia has had free reign in Somalia for approx 34 years. So they will not be leaving without a “fight”. But they will be leaving, all HSM has to do is request the UN and relevant security council members to put international sanctions on Ethiopia. Under international law, the request by the Somali government must be adhered to. All it would take is for HSM to request it, and ask for said measures to be taken. Let’s hope he does the right thing.

This government only exists thanks to the US & EU supplementing its budget to keep it operational, along with the presence of 20,000 foreign troops. If these lifelines were unplugged it would collapse in a matter of months. It therefore has no leverage, whatever it's donors decide is what goes.
