Ambassador Pronk acknowledged that "the partnership between the EU and Somalia is presently at a high point, since President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud's inauguration last ear and the launch of the EU - Somalia Joint Operational Roadmap in May. We need to capitalise the on the current momentum of our partnership by advancing the future security cooperation between EU and Somalia, including looking at the role of our missions EUCAP and EUTM Somalia.

We need to balance our relationship between the West and Bricks, need to leverage it to our own benefit and not get sucked in, will be discarded as soon as we're not useful.

EU needs energy. Somalia has the top wind and solar potential in the world plus we are oil and gas rich. They need us and I believe they are the best potential partner as they aren’t affected by democracy.

We should be a Western client state
