Use the latest meta guide for beginners on one of the big empires like the ottomans (make sure you have the all the dlc if you dont wanna pay for it you can just crack it) and you'll eventually understand the mechanics and figure out how to do thing more efficiently on your own based on the situations your placed in

Lol I personally have never done what I suggested I just watched one of those guides and kept up with the meta and dlc that came with the updates and jumped between ajuraan and adal and kept doing trial and error until I got good at the game.

They made ethiopia so op in the early game so it has a chance against the Muslims but its at the expense of adal so that ethiopia gets a fighting chance against the mamluks

Starting in the horn region is definitely not beginner friendly

Your meant to start at the beginning date so you can understand the meta of leveling up your tech tree
