It's all posturing unfortunately, but whether the President is doing it unknowingly Allahu aclam - he has shown political naivety in the past. The mercenary force know as Al Shabaab have a purpose in the Horn, just like all the others stationed around the world. If somehow he manages to suppress this group, there'll just be another AL group to replace them.

Somalias biggest enemies are Somalis, I'm not just talking about AS but those who stay in the comfort fairytale lives in the west criticizing any progress Somalia makes, and downplaying and undermining there own ppl and country.

The west took hundreds of yrs to become what it is today, and Somalia is gonna accomplish those in way less time with newer technologies to help it boost.
