Farming becoming popular in central Somalia

Damn $52k per hectare in the first one. Farming is very profitable and its demand is forever constant as food will always be a necessity as long as there are humans.

ChatGPT says 'In ideal conditions, green chili peppers can be harvested every 2-3 weeks during the growing season, with multiple harvests per year if managed well'.

Yep most vegetables in the area I heard come all the way from Beledweyne and hiiraan if they can provide consistent local food production they will be eating good

Food security is the most important thing a government can have even more than a standing army.

This is really good for mudug it has high concentration of bedouins and introducing/converting them to farming will make them more docile and sedentary than unruly and mobile, inshallah if this goes on mudug wont be known as Clan War capital and instead the breadbasket of PL.

Lately, I’ve seen a lot of farming projects and privately owned greenhouses pop up in this area. I know of a couple of greenhouse/large farms on the outskirts of Galkacyo, both in PL and GM, such as Somagro and Dalzaad Agriculture.

This person owns a farm in Guriceel, excellent page with frequent updates on their crops. I think there’s a farming cooperative in deegaanka Guriceel, as well. There’s many farms in the Guriceel region. Glad they’re taking advantage of the nutrient rich, red soil.

The key to solving the issue of unruly, violent reer miyi is to have them adopt subsistence farming, as well as tending to their herds of animals. If both maamuls, especially maamulka Galmudug, could focus on water conservation projects by creating large reservoirs, damming wadis, teaching reer miyi and small scale farmers how to conserve rain water, etc, this could completely transform the region and prevent any stupid clashes over wells in the future.
