I mean the whole of Somalia as the citizens of Somalia from whatever Federal state will be allowed to democratically vote in FGS presidential elections.

Also Regional Presidential elections (FMS) would also be voted democratically by the public. It’s good because people will now be able have a say

Yes Somaliland do have democratic elections. I’m just unsure if the Somalia democratic elections would include Somaliland.

Yes. But the Federal Parliament of Somalia sought approval from Villa Hargeisa. So I’m a bit confused would Somaliland citizens be allowed to vote in Somalia elections?

I though it was a sarcastic jab by the publication at Farmaajo. Surely Villa Hargeisa is not in Mogadishu.

Yep it’s called Villa Hargeisa in Mogadishu. I don’t know why but it opened in 2014:

I mean that was suggested by Kheyre to give Somaliland the Capital and Presidency but that was immediately squashed by both the Federal Member States and Somaliland.

Hargeisa makes more sense as the capital of Somalia for its proximity to the Gulf of Aden. Most regional players beyond Ethiopia are located in that direction. Mogadishu is a little too far removed. It can still be a major commercial and military hub. The move might as well patch up regional relationships within Somalia.

Look at Istanbul. It used to be the capital of the Ottoman Empire. The Turks have moved their capital to Ankara. Istanbul is still the biggest city in Turkey and a de facto commercial and financial center of their country.

If Hargeisa is such a no no for the Federal member states, we might look into setting up a brand new capital city at the northeastern tip of Somalia close to Ufeyn.
