The video summarises the current discriminatory nature of modification made to the female genitalia. On one side you've the western FGCS where modifications are done not only on adults but also young teenage girls, while on the other side you've ANY form of modifications done by non-westerners condemned, prosecuted and banned

White teenage girls can consent to undergo any number of modifications while non-white women who hail from cultures where circumcisions is the norm are banned from having the same modification that are offered to these teenage girls in the same country as them. These laws are racist as they discriminate based on background of the women in question.


Language is key so is misinformation as well, since when the topic of female cutting comes up the worst forms of are brought forth to stop any attempt of discussion regarding the different varieties of modification made to the female genitalia. All these NGOS who lobby for non-westerners to banned any form of female cutting in their countries never disclose that the same procedures are done in their countries and offered to women as cosmetic surgeries.


The only downside to the video is the reliance on a single salafi scholar regarding the status of female circumcision. He fails to bring the views of the 4 schools and makes a hasty conclusion that it's not an obligation, the shafiic madhab that somalis follow says it's obligation for both men & women.

He never said its an obligation he said the opposite. Also he used the scholar to point out its a difference of opinion and even if it were to be considered mustahab it would not be damaging to the female

Furthermore there's nothing called FGM in islam, as it assumes that diinta allows mutilation as such we need to call it female circumcision. FGM is a racist loaded term that was invented by cadaanka to reject female circumcision in it's totality as it doesn't align with their views regarding women.

I meant to say "not an obligation" i've edited it now. He brings the opinion of ibn uthymin etc to prove that it's not an obligation, he fails to state the different views the madhab had especially the shafiici view where it's an obligation.

true. As he stated in the video, even if a female is circumcised there are not negative effects, this only happens when they go extreme and beyond the boundaries Islam set
