#Somali Embassy in Bonn, East #Germany remained shut from 3rd October 1990; on the historical day of German reunification, where the former German Democratic Republic [East Germany] officially joined the Federal Republic of Germany.

It is as if the embassy stopped in time. This was only one year before total state collapse in Somalia. This is the office of the ambassador.

the Somali Embassy in Bonn that was repossessed by the former Somali government is now up for sale for €1,300,000 on online European real estate sites.

State assets (unclaimed and forfeited) of Somalia have been lost to theft of reigning leaders in the past. We don't know for sure thought if this is corruption or a legitimate goverment transaction

Due to tue chimpout in 91' and the subsquent destruction and looting of all goverment buildings much of Somalia's assets in foreign countries whether real estate, bonds and debts are all virtually unkown

There was a Somalia consulate office in NYC and it was beside Arthur Ashe's and Barbara Streisand's homes. It was looted by it's employees and they didn't pay any of the utility bills (or bring gifts as is the custom when attending other consulate parties) and kept it a dirty mess. The one in Bonn looked like devastation.

This has nothing to do with corruption that building was rented by the Siad government the Somali embassy has it's own building in BerlinView attachment 339091
Why you lying, the building was repossessed by the last admin, the building is under the name of the Somali Democratic Republic and was transferred to custody of the last FGS. They switched to the Berlin Embassy and left the Bonn one abandoned but it was still owned.
So when the government sell their own shit it's corruption what an imbecile
As if these funds would go to the goverment, ninyahow get out if your fairytale land this is another add on to the long list of things HSM tries to steals and let's not forget stealing Barre era somali goverment assets is a favorite pastime of this guy.

They straight up abandoned the building and I'm sure whatever valuables in their or other items of monetary interest were looted. Straight thieves wallahi as soon as their is no goverment to hold them accountable loot, kill and chimpot is what somalis do. Reminds of the qurbajoog guy from the nordic countries who came back to somalia on the eve of 91 and when he landed in Berbera was arrested on charges of affiliation with siyaad barre(u can probably guess why), his newly bought yacht which was also transporting his news cars and the equipment to create a maritime resources company in kismayo was looted and he was held hostage for several months by a tribal "king" until he escape on foot to hargeisa where a distant relative help him flee. To this day that tribal king travels around in his cars, his equipment is used by berbera port authorities and his yacht/transport ship was sold to Indians and he has yet to receive justice.

Are we supposed to grieve over the looting of previously looted government funds (most probably). Good for the tribal king and the port of authorities for making good use of those assets and let's spare a thought for the millions of people who lost more than ill-gotten gains and who have never recieved justice.

Seems unlikely a white collar worker could accrue all of that. Looks like the kind of weird moves a government looter does buying a yacht and multiple cars and making a run for it. A yacht that can transport multiple cars? That's not regular. This yacht proably cost multiple millions of dollars.

The tribal king made the correct assessment seeing all that loot.

This happened in 2001? Interesting if this story is true then he shouldn't have been in Somaliland waters with a Somali registered ship.

His assets were correctly forfeited to the Republic Somaliland and sold off by the authorities, I believe. Maybe some individuals were given a finders fee for their efforts. But i'm obviously not aware of all the specifics.

Wtf are u okay? How was it correctly "forfeited" his ship was hijacked mid route in international waters or did u not read the article. The authorities instead of following international law siezed the lawful property of this man and sold it. Also wdym his ship shouldn't have been in "somaliland" waters? U can't just sieze a vessel and sell it. Consecutive SL presidents refused to explain why they did it but instead doubled down on their lies even at one point making an enemy of the Danish goverment. I convinced now that u are related to these people u are condoning robbery.

Well, as far as I'm aware no Somaliland authorities were involved in directing his ship to Berbera. Once there it came under scrutiny by Somaliland authorities and probably captured due to the ongoing state of war and the individuals unresolved connection with the Somali state. Similar things are happening with Russian registered ships due to the Ukraine war.

I have no connection with any of the individuals involved in this case.

What unresolved connection was there? Your making it up as you go lol. There was no state of war the Somali Democratic Republic had collapsed and there was no real successor state. The individual sought legal recourse and Somaliland authorities refused to accept even after the Danish goverment interceded highlight a blatant lack of knowledge of international law on the part SL. Even after he had clarified everything port authorities refused to reimburse or return his stolen equipment.

There's nothing to clarify. It's a Somali registered ship, which you would have to explain how the ship could be registered in the absence of a state. He even says the registered his ship at the Consulate General in Rome.
