Frankincense From Punt

Interesting find regarding frankincense from Punt and its relation to east Cushitic (Somali). Notice it would have been pronounced with the same ‘cayn’ at the beginning. @Maakhri2024 @Shimbiris @Midas @Araabi @NidarNidar

This was in a research paper on Egyptian among neighboring African languages.

ntjw ( cntyw عنتيو ) :

ntjw : This term has sometimes been identified with frankincense instead of myrrh. It seems likely that the Egyptians themselves did not clearly distinguish between the two.

ntjw ( cntyw عنتيو ) is similar to the Somali word ( caanaha عانه ) as I see it .
or the Somali word : dhacaan ( dhacaamay , dhacaantay ),
dheecaan , dhacaamid .
dhacaan : liquid , fluid , moisture ; sap ; serum .
