Paranoia and Priorities.

Don’t let paranoia cloud your judgement. I have no idea when conspiracy theory and paranoia crept into Somali culture, but growing at an alarming rate.

I see it here on this forum all the time. Where people their paranoids with one other. All it takes is for one Somalis to say to another “Walllahi, Waa Ruunta”, and that’s it! Validation without analysis.

We can trade with countries because that’s what our Somali market needs, however the market is saving our lives by reducing its own confindence in us. We aren’t focused on priorities, these odays have the worst priorities in place. One guy last week went took limited public capital to fly out to a tourism convention for Somalia. International tourism is 30 years away, and these odays would rather spend money an international tourism summit; knowing the Somali diaspora don’t want to return and nationals are tahriibing.

Exactly, i have always been weary of Turkeys ''charity''. Soon they will start asking for the chairty to go the other way. Lucrative oil deals, or Uranium, or port deals. Whatever it is they want, they could have a monopoly on. Somalia would of course get the worse end of these deals. Look at Nigeria, they only get 20% of the oil revunue they produce, the rest goes to foreign companies.

The one thing protecting Somalia from its people is “Market Confidence”, our Suuq comes with great risk and little return in the long term for shady investors. The Americans are right down the street and most likely have a Satellite on any activity on the Uranium plains. When Turkey opens it first mining company in Somalia it will be guarded closesly by military personnel from every corner. This isn’t the Somali Model Market we dream of. It’s a nightmare scenario if we don’t invest and support competent Somali Firms who return profits back to Somalis and grow the nations valued industries.

The Ciyaal Kacaan don’t do this. They are programmed with a duqan xuuman, that is “Eat today forget about tomorrow”. This is why they export our trees to Arabs who contribute to the deforestation of Somalia one Puff at a time.

The Somali market needs Somali owned Private Equity firms that put the national interests before profits. We need a culture of trust and investment in our top firms.
