Garacad port's demise is a key objective of the Mogadishu region

The map released by the Mogadishu region during their oil exploration ceremony which put Mudug into dispute coincided with a video of Turkish expansion of Mogadishu port with a road link to Ethiopia.

Rewind back a few months ago when Ethiopia was violating the FGS with the MoU, they only responded when Puntland signed a deal to link Garacad port to Ethiopia. The docile PM is a puppet for mooryaan activities.

This is economic sabotage, there is a clear attempt by the mooryaans to discourage investment in Puntland's Mudug by making its status unclear. This is also the reason why they are blocking the Xarfo road.

We are being tested, it is not outside the realm of possibilities that Shabaab attack Garacad like they did in 2016 under Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. Deni has to reinforce Mudug and put the pressure on the disgraced MPs such as Sanyare and Gaagaab. These mercenaries have already shown they can be bought.

From my understanding, PL has tons of troops in Garacad and its environs for this very reason so no plausible threat from shabab there. I do agree there are clear attempts at economic sabotage though. It's clear unukalism with an eye toward putting any offshore oil discovered in southern PL into dispute. I don't buy that the map was an accident. How do you accidentally use a map from almost 10 years ago? The good thing is though that they are incredibly incompetent and most of their schemes come to nothing.

They are incompetent but even a discussion will be considered to validate their attempt that there is a dispute. The Puntland government has to explain repeatedly in public spaces that this is economic sabotge and it is being led by Hassan Sheikh using his docile PM and the Mudug reps. You have to treat the wound before it festers. This has to be core messaging.
