Putin always speaks Russian in interviews, his English is probably not that good. Many major world leaders don't speak English or struggle with it . While English is important I don't see how a mid level Somali ministry employee not being proficient in English is such a huge issue tbh

It's so cringe, we aren't Arabs and nobody in Somalia speaks Arabic as a native language except foreigners. I don't expect Somali politicians to be proficient in Arabic anymore than I expect them to be proficient in Chinese. Somali politicians should at least speak English for foreign relations, any other language is a plus but it shouldn't be a shame that a Somali doesn't know Arabic . It's not our language

There plenty of Somali's that have gotten educated in Arab countries and that speak Af Arab well. For instance Somalia Prime Minister Hamza speaks Af Arab well. He was educated in Yemen and holds a bachelor's degree science and technology from a university in Yemen. So we do have Somali leaders that are well versed in Af Arab , but the issue is we have idiot that wasn't to be the center of attention. As a president of a nation you send you people that represent your nation on a global scale with the education to match.

Ok it was fake but in general a diplomat should have a good command of the necessary language- English is the global lingua franca they should know it well otherwise how will they competently represent the interests of their country?
