None of these issues would be significant, as Somalia would emerge as the regional power controlling a crucial chokepoint in the Bab el Mandeb Strait, and the inclusion of Galbeed presents an overwhelming strategic depth for Ethiopia to manage.I noticed even if the British gave us Ogaden and the NFD we’d still have issues with Kenya and Ethiopia regardless. Ethiopia would most likely still have harar. And Kenya would have lamu and its surrounding coast. So the concept of a ‘greater’ Somalia would still exist outside of colonial greater Somalia. Also we’d share the tana river with Kenya so resource/ water sharing would be and issue. And xamar would still be the capital as jig jigga and dire Dawa are too close to the border it would be a security issue. Only positive is French Somaliland but we’d have to deport the afars/ displace or assimilate them. Socotra would still impose on our EEZ so that would replace the djibouti issue. Still three border disputes regardless but a much larger Somalia.
