At this point I think it is practically impossible for the K5 & NFD region to reunite with Somalia.

Best case scenario is that Ethiopia & Somalia perhaps in the future have some kind of internal market agreement with freedom of movement for goods, capital and persons similar to the EU or GCC Gulf States. That way the whole border becomes irrelevant for all practical purposes.
