The first guy in this video speaking, was the same one who spoke a few weeks ago after he joined Caare, there are only three possibilities
1)Caare lied to his soldiers and doesn't pay them, that's why they quit
2)this guy was a spy of SL in the first place
3)ina biixi made the first time since he is President something right and the whole Caare thing was a masterplan to capture badhan and eastern sanaag

Tbh i think it's option 1, cause how do you wanna tell me Caare pays 1500 soldiers each one 100 dollar that is a tenth million every month. If you tell me FGS pays that... they can't even pay their own soldiers let alone a little rebel group.

Reasonable analysis but what are his beliefs? Does he believe in ictiraaf or rejoining Somalia?

It's not that easy this time. This soldier is a Kornayl and brought 300 soldiers with him to the Caare rebel group. That's what they've said in the video where he joined Caare. So him leaving is defently a loss.

I don't know tbh i can only judge what i see from the videos. As for his soldiers like the one in the video they always say that they just want to save "qaranka Sl" from the dulmi and nothing more. So his soldiers defently believe in SL. Caare used to say the same things at the beginning but somehow his wordings have changed in the last few weeks. I don't know what he believes

It's funny watching any conflict scenarios

They diss is constantly and everytime we win they say it was all a conspirancy by us like we had the whole scenario planned. Remember Tukaraq they they thought the rumour that farmaajo was gonna come to Sool / Sanaag es something we started so SL Army can takeover Tukaraq and use that as an excuse.

Now that we're in Badhan they say Caare is the excuse. You reap what your schedule sow you have him safe haven.

Remember Somaliland is only using the Sanaag Battalion of the armed forces which is it's smallest.

He only left today it's not possible for him to take at one moment 300 soldiers with him, he eventually himself left secretly and took the ones he trust the most.

Let's just say the other 300 didn't left yet and won't. How do you wanna explain that a Kornayl who brought 300 soldiers to the rebel group, leave the group in less than a month ?
