A somali family in MN that I know are utterly devastated because their daughter moved to NYC to pursue modeling.

In my opinion Modeling is a legalized form of prostitution.

I pray for them as well. Their daughter is allowing herself to be objectified sexually by creepy old cadaan men with French-sounding names, and many of these so-called "Managers" of these models receive sexual favors from their clients.

This isn't a secret. This is something well known in the industry. There's no way they're gonna allow some young hot 23 year old chick to just pose for photographs without them attempting to fornicate with her as well.

I think that was mainly with the first wave of Somali migrants to the West in the 80s and early 90s. The Somalis who are coming in now are often of lower socio-economic standing and don't object as much to that type of work. It is much more common to see Somalis doing manual labour nowadays.

Somalis are hardworking except maybe in England and Scandinavia. You have to be to bring food to the table in the real world.

Welfare doesn't pay shit but some Somalis may get by because of many welfare income sources.
