Halal meat in supermarkets

I was watching this tiktok and people were arguing how supermarkets in NZ should sell halal meat. I don't know about this. NZ is a secularist country and Muslims make less than 2% of the population. Then again it would be pretty accessible for Muslims. Then another again I don't know if we should tell supermarkets to sell halal meat. there are multiple halal meat shops. Local meat shops in my area and Muslims should support their businesses.

They already get it, don't they? Alcohol as an example generally goes in the "expat communities" there and has for decades from what I gather. Not sure about pork but it's probably been available to them too. Here in the UAE hypermarkets always generally have a "non-Muslim" section where gaalo can buy pork. Has been like that since I was born and I assume it's not much different in places like Qatar or Bahrain.

Just googled it and my suspicions seem correct:

I lived in Saudi Arabia for 3 years . We had a ‘Pork Shop’ on our expat housing compound ! So we often had pork ! It was very cheap as it was sold at cost price, no profit allowed on an ‘illegal’ food ! When I was due for home leave I used to buy a large joint of pork and take it home in my luggage !

Seems it is available in the expat communities. Saudi has long had this sort of "dual culture" thing going where foreign, usually western, expats have their own small compound sort of communities and in those communities a lot of things otherwise illegal in the rest of Saudi are overlooked like alcohol consumption.
