I swear my local Somali Imam is more knowledgeable than him. I have nothing against Shaykh Hamza Yusuf but I wouldn't sit under him.

He studied the Islamic sciences in Mauritania for over 10 years. He had a traditional scholarly education.

Ok, does he actually teach students fiqh and aqeedah. All i see him talk about tassawuf and heart softening themes.

He has videos on Maliki Fiqh in which he specialised in. He also specialised in Ash'ari theology in Sunni mainstream orthodoxy.

His Tassawuf is also very good. I find it very appealing.

I don’t watch Hamza Yusuf but I’m sure he said we need to obey the law’s of the United states as long as we’re not forced to sin which is true. I don’t see the issue here? Your scholar Ibn Uthaymeen said the same thing, when you’re living in the West, you need to obey their laws.

You’re free to disagree with his take but to take his words out of context to insinuate that he doesn’t have Palestinian’s best interests at heart and he’s a “sell-out” is simply disingenuous and dishonest. Hamza Yusuf has spoken up for Palestinians many times, he just has a different strategy to the Palestinian issue. He believes that if the Palestinians strategically agreed to not retaliate they could gain sympathy and more advantage, an Ghandi or MLK strategy. You’re free to disagree with him and his strategy but you’re not free to say he supports oppression of Palestinians.

When did I take his words out of context? He says it right there, he thinks the palestinians should give up while yahud have stolen their land and desecrated our masajid. Interestingly he also had the same position on the syrian revolution and even mocked the Syrian people for trying to remove an oppressive kafir ruler. This concerted attack by salafis against Sheikh hamza seems suspicious they are all making multiple threads about him making insidious claims which have no basis. Attacking the cird of scholars is a very serious crime but Allah is enough to defend his awliyah.

It is true that Hamza Yusuf is a $cholar for dollars, he is employed by the UAE constantly praising its government and endorses all their politics. Notice he will never condemn the overthrowing of Morsi and the following brutal crackdown.

This is common knowledge to most involved Muslims in the west especially North America.
