This is a fantastic initiative because groundwater has so many benefits and can alleviate many of the problems that Somalia is now facing, such as drough and flooding. I sincerely hope that our leaders open their eyes and implement these projects throughout Somalia.

This is already happening throughout somalia.

Here’s a picture I took of a giant dam near a tuulo an hour or so away from laascaanood called Qabri bayax.

They were still doing construction at the time it should have been long done by now, hopefully they fill up during rainy seasons.

The dam looks almost identical to the one pictured in the tweet.

This is fantastic. Is this a government effort or an individual project? Either way, I'm delighted our people are finally doing something to combat the droughts and floods that have wrecked our country.
