Has anyone been judged by family and/or peers for their career choice ?

A lot of people have giving me shit for not having a real “career “. Actually, dog handling/walking is a very hard job to automate or to replace with machines. That’s because dogs are social animals and generally don’t like machines. My family is kinda disappointed. My mum’s side comes from a long line of very college educated . My grandma graduated from high school at 13. My dad really pushed me to college because none of his family is. He wanted me to go to vet school. Being a veterinarian is especially stressful and have a high suicide rate. Also, being a housewife is lame to ajnabis. I love to work, but my main goal in life is money. I don’t care about being rich, but self sufficient with a little extra.

As long as you make a decent income, enjoy your job and you are happy, that is all that matters :)

Your career is fine as long as it makes you happy plus your helping animals that depend on humans
Domestic animals have helped mankind survive since the dawn of time. Without dogs helping us hurt, cats killing vermin, and horses providing transportation humans would of fell to the other higher primates during the Ice Age.

My brother wanted to be a teacher and my parents said he was lazy. They also said that he’ll waste 5 years to just get paid a low salary. But in reality one of the most important thing each country needs is teachers.

I would have been branded a loser if I had refused to earn a post secondary education. It’s easier being a colored woman than a coloured man in the West. So many expectations from society and the world are expected from the average colored man. Why does a man have to be branded as a loser if he refuses to be employed or attain an education/skill?

The coloured women then take all these free passes from society and tend to subjugate the coloured man in the West. Why does the coloured man have to suffer to please the coloured woman?

For my dad, it’s the military or missionary work. They pushed gaining knowledge, but aren’t college folks. As long as you’re weren’t in manual labor work, they won’t judge.

Personally, as long as they tell me they're happy, seem happy, have a roof over their head and are eating I won't judge what my munchkins decide to do with their lives as long as it's not anything that harms others or is degrading for their soul and xaran like some form of prostitution.

As for me myself being judged? Story for another time.

I understand that making your parents happy comes first. But if you end up doing a career you don’t want to your going to live a miserable life. I picked computer science to make my parents happy, I don’t hate it and I don’t love it. I picked a balance you know what I mean.

My parents think to research subjects as ones with the highest amount of pay but it rly isnt. Sometimes you earn less than teachers. Its only my hooyo really which is funny cus my dad has a job in the sciences
