Where do they make the diric materials? I've never seen other ethnicities wear these fabrics with the same designs as Somalis. It's like they're one off designs just for Somalis. Also who else wears the traditional saash we wear? Is there some secret rich Somali textile magnate stationed in India making cloth just for Somali suuqs?

Id guess they get the materials from china , traditional sash ive never seen anyone wear it only in old pictures from back in The day

But Chinese people or anyone else for that matter don't wear these designs. Saash is still on sale.
 
Did you know only married women wear shaash? Thats why there is shaash saar after somali weddings. It usually takes place after todobo kabax (after 7 days of being married).

Very few people know about this. Yes you bring an array of colours and give the newlywed several years supply.
