The fact is that Ilhan Omar is so detrimental to the non white cause, that the Republican literally see no reason to challenge her. Her secular views in which are most likely impressing young muslims to challenge our established values are exactly what the Republicans and Democrats want. Her affair aswell if anything would have been a perfect opportunity for the Republican's to tarnish her reputation further, as it isn't something below them and yet they haven't. Why?, because they know she is an liability and thus the reason for electing this imbecile as her opponent.
