originally the country was split into 8 different regions or gobols, and then after that 18. but that wasnt used since before the kacaan era. then the 4.5 system emerged where theyve divided the positions between the 4 major qabils(Dir, Hawiye, Darood, Digil&Mirifle) and the .5 make up the small minorities in somalia. read up, sxb

What a pathetic excuse.Somaliland is at no means perfect but we have shown and trying to achieve to be real functioning democracy unlike the circus down south.Federalism in the south and clan based parliaments will continue their agony in the south as groups are now fighting over borders and resources in this "New" Somalia.Just my observation

wrong! somaliland political is one of the most tribal diverse in the whole world.
HA/HY/harti waqooyi/gadabuursi supported udub for 9 years. while HJ and half HY and arab supported kulmiye. majority ciidagale supported ucid only.
