This comic gives a origin story to why the Joker became so fucked up.

Basically the Joker was a lab worker and it was a good job but he quit because he wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a Comedian . He didn't do well, was short on money and expecting a kid. He planned to do a crime to get enough money to move away from his shithole house but he was told that his wife died in a freak accident. The mafia guys still forced his to go through with the crime and he falls in a chemical chamber, the chemicals destroy his face and he goes crazy.

This story focuses on how batman has had enough of the Joker, he might kill him
