landers are so tribalisic even at a young age. I remember one day when it was Somaliland Independence Day and the landers were going crazy, mind you this is in middle school, the lander gang even wore their colors as dresses and were running around the halls ways proclaiming their independence. Anyways they asked me for my tribe and obviously I was a child how would I know. They were like how do you not know your tribe. So, I asked my mom the next day and she told me. I was so excited to tell them however they made fun of me and shit

The flag of Somalia represent all Somali people, regardless of what territories that we came from (K5, NFD, SL, etc). This man understood that, and he knew that burning the flag, even though it is the fake paper replica version of it, would be to spit, berate, and disparage the sweat, tears, and blood that was spilt into making our nation state.
No one knows the history of Somalia and what caused it to be in its current state. They do, however, know about our customs and our tarbiyaa and akhlaaq that was practiced by our ancestors whilst doing business with them. They know what's the meaning behind that flag and what it represents. It's best that we become self-respecting again and try our best to not let our ancestors down.
